Our high school band is a vibrant group of talented musicians who perform at school events, competitions, and community gatherings. From jazz to classical, our band brings music to life.

The chorus is a harmonious ensemble that showcases the power of voices united. We perform a variety of genres, from traditional choral music to modern pop arrangements.
Meet Our Instructors
Evan Smith
Chorus Director
Evan Smith has been the chorus director at Saugus Middle High School since the 2021-2022 school year and the director of Tonal Chaos since 2022. An alumni of Saugus Public Schools, Evan went on to study music performance and education at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and has been playing music since he was in fourth grade.
Justin L. Jones
Band Director
Mr. Jones has been the band director in Saugus for 15 years. Starting at the elementary level then moving up to middle & high school, Mr. Jones has taught hundreds of students. Some, from the 4th grade up through high school graduation. Since 2012 he's been the high school band director and responsible for developing curricula for electives such as: History of Rock, Music in Film and Podcasting 101. Mr. Jones holds a BA in Jazz Performance from the University of Southern Maine and is currently completing a Master's in Historical Musicology at the University of Connecticut. When Mr. Jones isn't leading the bands at SMHS, he is enjoying time with his wife and two sons.
